The selection trilogy ❤️

Hi everyone!

As some of you might know, the selection trilogy are one of my all time favorite books! 

I'm talking of course about 'the selection', 'the elite' and 'the one' by Keira Cass!

When I read those books a magical and girly feeling went through me! Yesss, who doesn't love a bit of princesses and romance? 

(When I was little I always wanted to become a ruling princess) uhm, as you can see, that didn't quite happen, haha. 

However, going back to the selection trilogy books, I wanted to share some of my favorite quotes and fanmade pictures which circulate on the internet these days .

 

Ah yes, when I started the books this was my first impression. Aw those feels!

This really is true as well :) how much I love the 2!  

The time she was still unsure, how sweet he was :) she'd mean the world to him!

This is what I had exactly in mind when thinking of the characters! 

 

And last but not least! Shame America has Maxon, because I wouldn't mind to marry him ;)

#FridayReads 16-10

Helloo, 

Here I'm again! Over the weekend I'll be reading books again. Last weekend I was so busy I only finished 'Hollow city' by ransom riggs. 

So this friday i'll be reading 'prisoner of night and fog' by Anne Blankman again, just because I hadn't time to finish it last week, but also will be reading a children's book for uni :) 

The 2nd book i'll be reading a dutch book which hasn't been translated to english called 'mees kees op de planken' by Mirnjam Oldenhave. It's a children's book which many dutch children have read or are reading. the 1st 2 mees kees books have been made into 1 movie :) kids between 7 and 10 absolutely love them.

 For uni I have to read 30 dutch childrens books this year, some might be translated, others aren't. 

I'm planning on also reviewing those on my blog. Just let me know what you think of the idea!

Review: Hollow City by Ransom Riggs

Why I read this book: I read the 1st book in the trilogy and just absolutely loved the idea of the peculiar world

This second novel begins in 1940, immediately after the 1st book ended. Having escaped miss peregrine's island, jacob and his new friend must journey to London, the peculiar capital of the world. Along the way, they encounter new allies, a menagerie of peculiar animals, and other unexpected suprises. 

Review 

So, I finally finished 'hollow city'. I can't believe how much time it took me. Miss peregrine's home for peculiar children I enjoyed so much but this book, I couldn't get in. 

Again the story is about the boy, Jakob. He still is with the peculiar children and has sworn to save miss Peregrine. When she got turned into a bird the peculiars did everything they could to save her. They met new people and spent time to look for miss Wren because she'd know how to turn miss peregrine back. When being caught by the hollows they escape and try to travel to London to find miss Wren. When they arrive and she tries to turn back the bird something happens she nor the children had expected. It turned out the bird wasn't miss Peregrine but one of the hollows, and they get imprisoned. 

As usual, the pretty photos are really great! You get a nice idea of how the children look like and how weird they actually are. It is really nice the story and book have so many details, it keeps you in. Which in my opinion is the purpose of books in general :) 

There also were some things I didn't like.. The constant running in this book, like, you can't run for almost 400 pages can you? It kinda became boring to read they again got away from a hollow.. It happens so many times in the book it made me feel like: ughh oohhh here they go again... Also the idea of meeting other peculiar children but not properly adding them to the story. I don't know, I thought I would have enjoyed the book more. Maybe my expectations were too high? 

I hope i'll enjoy the last book in the trilogy more. Probably because I have been in a huge reading slump, I've enjoyed books less than I should have. 

Well, let's hope the next book will be an amazing read!

I decided to take the booktube fridayreads to the blog.

I always love to read what books people will be reading for the weekend and following week.

Don't you just love to snug away under a fleeceplaid with a cup of tea (and chocolate <3 ) to read a book in the weekend?     I looooove it!

this friday I'll be reading several books:

first of all I'm reading 'Hollow city' by Ransom Riggs

because of a huuuuuuuge reading slump past 10 months I never got the chance to finish this.. so I decided to start over again and give it a proper chance. Miss peregrine's home for peculiar children I enjoyed so much last year.

secondly, I'll be reading 'prisoner of night and fog' by Anne Blankman. This is a book about a girl who's uncle is Adolf Hitler. I'm becoming more interested in the times of the 2nd world war, because of my grandmother's stories she tells me. she herself lived in Germany during the 2nd world war and some of her stories were really horrible.

The book actually takes things into a different light which intrigues me to read it :D

Review: saga volume 1 by Brian K. Vauhgn

Why I read this book: I just heard many good things about it, so I had to try

Review:

So, I finally jumped on the bandwagon. I read saga (yay for me), the book I have to say is was something totally different than I expected and also different than anything I ever read before. 

I suprisingly loved it. The characters were interesting and the worldbuilding looked great! The drawings inside the book were colourful and clear to understand. 

the book is about a man and a woman, they are from different planets, they boyh are soldiers in the war. On the woman's planet the man, markos is being a prisoner. One day she Helps him escape and they fall in love. She gets pregnant and after several months they have a little daughter. The authorities are behind the 3, so they constantly have to run from them and try to get away to another planet. In the end something happens and that we need to read in volume 2. 

As I said, I did like the book and really am going to order and read volume 2. Gave the book 4 out of 5 stars. I'm getting more into the graphic novels which I looove! 

Any of you who read saga?
