Oh my, I can't believe I've finished this series... This book was really really good, in fact, I loved it so much!

This was the 4th and final book in the Iron fey series by Julie Kagawa and she made something amazing of it. In stead of being written from Megan's point of view this one is written of Ash's. This book is all about him and his quest to earn a soul to be with Megan.

In the book Puck and Ash start together to go on a quest. Ash swore in the previous book to Megan he would be her knight and made a vow. As the normal feys can't go into the iron realm Ash decides he wants to earn his soul. Therefore he needs to go to the end of the world. On his way he meets someone he lost a long time ago and also the cat Grimalkin, Puck and a wolf accompany him on his quest. He learns to know his true self and also learns the dangers of earning a soul. In the end he has a choice, be human or not? He makes his choice. Megan in the end finally got her knight back, and even better, the man she loves.

“You're here," I murmured, reaching out to touch him, hardly believing this was real. "You came back." Ash's breath hitched, and he put his hand over mine.
"I came home.” 

I just have so much praise for this book. Kagawa's writing style takes you into the story and makes you understand the characters. Each character is unique and has it's best sides but also dark ones. She wrote this perfectly. The worldbuilding was as great as in the other books. I literally could see the end of the world in my mind. 

The book is published by Mira Ink. And i have to say that my paperback edition is really nice and easy to hold when reading. It's a bit of a shame the glitters on the cover keep getting of though, haha. Luckily this doesn't effect the story xD

But yes, this story was amazing! I just can't be more sad this series is over. All the characters were amazing and Ash will always have a special place in my heart.

This book I give 5 out of 5 stars. One of the best books I read in 2015!

The powder makes Nilly and Lisa very popular at school when they sell it for 50 cents a bag.

but when doctor Proctors creates an industrial-strenght version that can send people outer space, the kids must go to great lenghts to protect the invention and keep it out of the hands of the neighbors, who want to use the powder for evil purpouses

Review:

the blur already says a lot about the story of the book! I never knew before this book Jo Nesbo also wrote children's books, so this one came as a total suprise. I know he writes adult thrillers but as I said this one was quite the suprise. although he focuses on the adult books he wrote this one pretty well. I even heard there were more books in this series and that it has been translated into many languages.

In the book Nesbo's character comes to front, he writes very funny passages between the kids and the professor and has great one liners! the character of the kids is very curious. they want to be involved in everything and they love to find out new things. that's exactly what kids are these days! I can imagine that children will relate to the charachters in the book.

then we have Doctor Proctor, he is a very funny and insecure man who just wants to put his ideas into reality. He likes to make the weirdest potions and powder and he loves it! As a kid, I would have found this the most perfect dad in the world! :P although in the book the man is a Professor.
The book takes place in a city in Norway (the country Nesbo is from) and several Norwegian customs have been put into the book by him.

The book was quite easy to read and didn't have that many pages, which makes it the perfect evening read for kids. once you start the book you'll be sucked in from the start.

although I enjoyed the book very much I kinda felt that it wasn't the read I would recommend every kid. It had some quite rude words in it and some passages were maybe a little too hard to read for certain ages. In the end Nesbo is a thriller writer and not a childrens book writer. But however, I think Nesbo did a great job on writing this very exciting and funny book!

I gave the book 3 out of 5 stars, just because the book wasn't quite my cup of tea. 

Review: Prisoner of night and fog by Anne Blankman

Why I read this book: I read this because I just love the era of the 2nd world war and this sounded as a great book :)

Gretchen should despise Daniel, yet she can't stop herself from listening to his story: that her father, the adored Nazi matyr, was actually murdered by an unknown comrade. She also can't help the fierce attraction brewing between them, despite everything she's been taught to believe about the jews. As gretchen investigates the very people she's always considered friends, she must decide where her loyalties lie. Will she choose the safety of her former life as a Nazi darling, or will she dare to dig up the truth- even if it could get her and Daniel killed? 

Review:

The blur actually says a lot about the book. So I don't need to tell a lot anymore haha. as you can read Gretchen is devided into 2 different worlds, her own at the Nazi party or the life with Daniel. It's very hard to choose. Will she ever be able to leave the party and share her life with Daniel? Or will she choose for uncle Adolf Hitler who 'loves' and 'cherishes' her forever? It's hard.. 

In the end she will choose what she believes in. 

I have to say that the events in the book are partly written on real facts about hitler and are partly fiction as well. It's amazing how the author made a mix of the two in order to make it a very moving story. 

When reading the book I was really torn into the book. I felt the characters feelings and could imagine very well how the life before the 2nd world war was.

The city the story finds itself in is Munich, also the big city where in history Hitler made his party into what it became. 

In the story Hitler is very wealthy, but Grethen (his niece) , her brother and her mother aren't. Gretchen's father died and hadn't left anything for them. 

As a good uncle I would have expected Hitler would have helped them out. But in the story soon already doesn't care much about his niece anymore. In my opinion it was a little to soon. 

Overall, I loved the story! I just adored the characters and the city! I'm definitely going to buy book 2 in the trilogy to see how gretchen's life will be :) 

I gave the book 4 out of 5 stars! 

Review: Hollow City by Ransom Riggs

Why I read this book: I read the 1st book in the trilogy and just absolutely loved the idea of the peculiar world

This second novel begins in 1940, immediately after the 1st book ended. Having escaped miss peregrine's island, jacob and his new friend must journey to London, the peculiar capital of the world. Along the way, they encounter new allies, a menagerie of peculiar animals, and other unexpected suprises. 

Review 

So, I finally finished 'hollow city'. I can't believe how much time it took me. Miss peregrine's home for peculiar children I enjoyed so much but this book, I couldn't get in. 

Again the story is about the boy, Jakob. He still is with the peculiar children and has sworn to save miss Peregrine. When she got turned into a bird the peculiars did everything they could to save her. They met new people and spent time to look for miss Wren because she'd know how to turn miss peregrine back. When being caught by the hollows they escape and try to travel to London to find miss Wren. When they arrive and she tries to turn back the bird something happens she nor the children had expected. It turned out the bird wasn't miss Peregrine but one of the hollows, and they get imprisoned. 

As usual, the pretty photos are really great! You get a nice idea of how the children look like and how weird they actually are. It is really nice the story and book have so many details, it keeps you in. Which in my opinion is the purpose of books in general :) 

There also were some things I didn't like.. The constant running in this book, like, you can't run for almost 400 pages can you? It kinda became boring to read they again got away from a hollow.. It happens so many times in the book it made me feel like: ughh oohhh here they go again... Also the idea of meeting other peculiar children but not properly adding them to the story. I don't know, I thought I would have enjoyed the book more. Maybe my expectations were too high? 

I hope i'll enjoy the last book in the trilogy more. Probably because I have been in a huge reading slump, I've enjoyed books less than I should have. 

Well, let's hope the next book will be an amazing read! 

Review: saga volume 1 by Brian K. Vauhgn

So, I finally jumped on the bandwagon. I read saga (yay for me), the book I have to say is was something totally different than I expected and also different than anything I ever read before. 

I suprisingly loved it. The characters were interesting and the worldbuilding looked great! The drawings inside the book were colourful and clear to understand. 

the book is about a man and a woman, they are from different planets, they boyh are soldiers in the war. On the woman's planet the man, markos is being a prisoner. One day she Helps him escape and they fall in love. She gets pregnant and after several months they have a little daughter. The authorities are behind the 3, so they constantly have to run from them and try to get away to another planet. In the end something happens and that we need to read in volume 2. 

As I said, I did like the book and really am going to order and read volume 2. Gave the book 4 out of 5 stars. I'm getting more into the graphic novels which I looove!

Upon being imprisoned by the rulers, she accepts an offer to compete with other killers in a glass castle for a chance to serve the kingdom. This leads her to form unexpected bonds with Chaol, the captain of the guard, and Dorian, the crown prince of Adarlan. In time calaena is drawn into a conspiracy and a series of battles, leading to discoveries surrounding both the kingdom and herself.

Review:

so many people recommended this book to me that I just had to try it. I went in with high expectations but the book wasn't quite what I expected it to be. 

The first half I found really boring. the story wasn't establishing very well and the characters weren't really appealing to me. Not many things happened and I was tempted to put it away and start another book.

I actually did and didn't read in the book for over 3 weeks.

When I saw the many more positive reactions on the book I decided to pick it up again.

I'm not sorry I did.

I started reading the book where I left off and after around 30 pages it actually began getting better and better. from then on I just really enjoyed the book. I understood calaena's storyline and also the happenings in the book were so much better than the first half.

I loved the part of Dorian falling in love with her but she didn't feel that way. It's something that happens in daily life and this seeing in a fantasy young adult novel is just great.

I gave the book 3 out of 5 stars, just because the first half lacked imagination from the author.

I can't wait to start the next book in the trilogy.

hopefully it will be even better! :D
