For thirty-five girls, the Selection is the chance of a lifetime. The opportunity to escape the life laid out for them since birth. To be swept up in a world of glittering gowns and priceless jewels. To live in a palace and compete for the heart of gorgeous Prince Maxon.
But for America Singer, being Selected is a nightmare. It means turning her back on her secret love with Aspen, who is a caste below her. Leaving her home to enter a fierce competition for a crown she doesn't want. Living in a palace that is constantly threatened by violent rebel attacks.
Then America meets Prince Maxon. Gradually, she starts to question all the plans she's made for herself--and realizes that the life she's always dreamed of may not compare to a future she never imagined.

Review :
I coulnd't put This book down. Loved It from the 1st page.
The book is about a girl called 'america'. One day she get's a letter to enter the selection. Her boyfriend wants her to enter because he Thinks she'll get a better future if she gets chosen. She's surprised when she gets chosen and she is send to the palace to participate In the game for prince maxon. She gets to know the prince better and they are becoming friends. Because of some issues at home she doesn't want to get send back. The prince decides to keep her for as long as possible. Eventually he has feelings for America. America still loves her 'boyfriend' and wants some time to think. Of course also other girls are still fighting to become the prince's wife and America doesn't know where her heart belongs.
The book ends really good. Can't wait to read the sequel. I gave it 4 out of 5 stars. Hopefully the 2nd book will be even better.
Lovely review! The Elite, the second book, is infuriating. Just a heads up. The One is such a wonderful conclusion to the series though :)
